English

    Chianti Rose
  • Belle Story— English Rose. Very large, well scented, soft pink, semi-double blooms produced intermittently throughout the summer. Strong grower— 4ft x 4ft. (David Austin 1984)
  • Chianti— Climber or can be pruned to shrub.  Rich red color changes with age to a velvety purple. Once flowering. Color is exquisite. (David Austin 1965) Very Fragrant.
  • Constance Spry—English Rose Climber—one of the most beautiful of all climbing roses, it's giant pink blooms make a magnificent massed effect. OneTime Bloom. Strong Myrrh Scent. 12-15 ft. high or more.( David Austin 1961)
  • Cymbeline—English Rose. Strongly scented flowers produced intermittently throughout the summer. Spreading and arching habit shrub. Good disease resistance. 4ft x 4ft. (David Austin 1982)
  • Graham Thomas
  • Graham Thomas—One of the most widely planted of the English Roses. It Bears cupped, rich, pure yellow flowers that would be hard to match among Modern Hybrid Teas. Upright and bushy, very vigorous, shiny pale green disease resistant leaves. 5'x4' or excellent climber to 12 ft. Fresh tea fragrance.  Named after one of the most influential rosarians of our time. (David Austin 1983)
  • Lucetta Lucetta—English Rose—(David Austin 1983) can be grown as freestanding shrub or small Pillar Rose. Peachy pink buds open to large, tea-cup shaped flowers 5-6" across. The semi-double blooms are shell pink with a hint of saffron at the base of lovely scalloped and ruffled petals. Lucetta was the lady-in-waiting to Julia in Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona. 6-8ft x 6ft. Strong fragrance.
  • Red Coat
  • Penelope—Cluster-flowered shrub. Dense, bushy, free flowering. Flowers semi-double, cupped, in large clusters. Pale creamy-blush-pink, fading to white. Sweet musky scent. Summer to autumn bloom time. Small coral-pink hips. Excellent for hedging and mixed borders. Remove spent flowers to ensure continual bloom. 5x6 ft. Pemberton, England, 1924
  • Redcoat— English Rose. Red flowers produced freely over along period. Disease resistant. Bushy growth to 5 ft . (David Austin 1973)

Hybrid Musks

  • Ballerina—wild Hybrid musk—1937, pink flowers in masses of clusters. Constantly in  bloom, Great shrub. Light fragrance.
  • Bishop Darlington—Hybrid musk—with true musk fragrance . Large semi-double, creamy white blooms open from long, pointed bright coral buds. Repeats throughout the season. A large upright shrub or small climber.  G.C. Thomas 1926 NEW
  • Bubble Bath—Hybrid Musk—Typical of most Hybrid Musks, this plant is exceptional as a large cascading shrub, but branches are long enough to train on a pillar or trellis, thus characterizing the versatility of this rose. Soft pink flowers are produced in clusters with a soft fragrance. 1980 NEW
  • Buff Beauty—Modern shrub—Hybrid Musk. Large trusses of medium-sized, warm apricot- yellow blooms. Superb climber as well as large arching shrub. Delicious Tea Rose scent. Good repeat flowering. 5ft.x 5 ft. To 8-10 ft. as climber.(Bental 1939)
  • Felicia—Hybrid Musk 1928  Fully double flowers of apricot pink fading to cream. Medium-sized shrub or pillar rose.  ‘Felicia’ is very generous with her blooms which have one of the most intense fragrances in its class, making it an excellent cut flower. The moderate size allows it to be grown in a large container or planted as a specimen in a more restricted area.
  • Kathleen—Hybrid musk—White single blossoms with slight pink blooms in clusters. Blooms all season. Shrub or small climber. Very pretty rose hips for fall color. 1922   Fragrant

Gallicas

  • Sissinghurst Castle—An old Gallica found by Vita Sackville—West growing at Sissinghurst Castle in the ruins of the garden. It makes a mass of stems up to 4 ft high, purplish-crimson flowers, mid to late June.  1947 Good for low hedge.

Polyantha

  • The Fairy—Polyantha—Shrub. Graceful, spreading and fan-like growth, bearing numerous tiny, soft pink pompon flowers in sprays. Almost  continuous bloom. Tough, reliable and healthy. Nice in container, use as ground cover. Sprawling dense habit. Good cut flowers. This is one adorable rose!  2.5ft x 4ft. (Bental 1932) 

Climbers

    Bantry Bay
  • Bantry Bay—Climbing Floribunda. Pale Pink blooms  Repeat flowering. (McGredy 1967)
  • Don Juan—Climber—a vigorous climber with dark crimson Hybrid Tea type flowers. They are produced freely and show up well against the dark foliage. Strong, sweet fragrance. 15 ft. (Malandrone 1957)
  • Jeanne La Joie—Climbing mini-pink blooms, Blooms all season. Very hardy to 8 ft. 1975 light fragrance
  • New Dawn—(Climber) Vigorous, arching, free branching. Double pale pearl-pink flowers, sweetly scented. One of the easiest roses to grow on pergola, arch, fence, wall. Tolerates a north facing wall. May be pruned as shrub or hedge. Up to 15'x15'.  1930
  • Sally Holmes—climber  1976  Large (3 1/2 inch) ivory-white, single roses that are borne in expansive clusters are the signature of this rose. The clusters are seen as either huge tightly packed clusters or as smaller, looser clusters. Either presentation on this densely glossy green bush of up to 8 feet is a show stopping experience for the passersby. Wedding bouquet rose

Ramblers

  • Evangeline—wichuraiana Rambler, Huge clusters of soft pink single blooms  Blooms once a year—but quite a display! 12' to 25' Good for trees. Cluster of mini-hips in fall (1906)  Fragrant
  • Francois Juranville—Rambler. Large flowered, double  soft peachy-pink. Dark green glossy foliage. Repeats. Good scent. To 20 ft. (Barbier 1906)
  • W. van Fleet—Rambler. Clusters of large peachy-pink flowers, well scented, produced only at mid-summer to 20 ft. Blooms on old wood, so prune with moderation. (van Fleet 1910)

Rugosas

Carefree, extremely cold-hardy, fragrant, and very disease-resistant. Salt tolerant,  Species bloom once; hybrids repeat. Many produce hips in winter. Zones 3—9

  • Agnes—NEW
  • Frau Dagmar Hastrop—Lg. single pink blooms. Continuous flowers and very large hips and fall color 3x5. Fragrant.
  • F.J. Grootendorst—clusters of carnation-like small crimson flowers. Bushy/strong/hardy—little fragrance. Very cute! 1918 NEW
  • Therese Bugnet—Rugosa—shrub rose. Deep pink, fragrant blooms. May take 2-3 years to bloom, but worth the wait. Almost thornless. Disease free and extremely hardy. Some repeat flowering. Nice fall coloring, red canes, orange hips and bronzed foliage. This exceptional rugosa can take almost any soil, can live happily  with part shade, and needs minimal pruning.  5 x 4  ft. (1950)
